#3 is Back

The #3 is back, in racing that is. I've never been much of a race fan, but I sure have one little boy that is, and his fever for the sport has rubbed off on the other boys in the family and now everyone is hooked. The boys in my family says there's nothing like hearing the rumble  of the engines or the smell of those fumes at a NASCAR race.

The  #3 car was made  famous by Dale Earnhart. The #3 is coming out of retirement this year, an AdvoCare is one of the sponsors.

Karl, Zach, and Shek went to see the bus last night at an AdvoCare meeting, and Karl stayed to listen to Rick Loy speak. He came home quite motivated and fired up. Here's some photos of the bus that is currently on a tour across America re introducing #3 car back into racing.

Don't mess with my Mayberry

If you read my about me page on the blog, you know that I grew up in a small town similar to Mayberry.  I live in a lot larger town now than I did back then, but I know it has it's Mayberry roots. However, my Mayberry rural setting was disturbed yesterday.
Yesterday, my hubby had gone a quick errand at around 5:15 in the afternoon. He left in his truck, leaving mine in the garage, the garage door was up and the back door unlocked. The kids were watching tv on the sofa, and the baby was asleep on the sofa in between Shek and Karlie. I was in my bedroom just a few feet away from them, when I heard the door chime sound.

We have our doors hooked up to the security system to chime when someone opens a door even if the alarm system is not engaged. I assumed the door chime was just Karl coming home, but then I heard a voice in my kitchen asking for a Jolyetta...the voice sounded male, and did not sound like my husband or anyone I knew...I came out of my room greeted by a frightened Shek. Karlie said,"There's someone in the house with us. I went toward the kitchen where I heard the voice. Shek said she went outside. I went into the garage where a African American Lady was getting back into her white jaguar telling me that she was at the wrong house. That she was looking for a Jolyetta and  that she was told to come to the house with the garage lid up with a red truck parked inside.
FOLKS, I wasn't born yesterday...this sounded a little too fishy to me. When I go to a house I have never been to, I never just walk in without a knock.
My hubby drove up just as she was leaving...she offered her apologies to him as well. When he got in I told him the rest of the story. We were a little freaked. I posted it on Facebook to warn my friends in the area of our encounter. Someone saw my post, and would you believe it...the lady hit two more houses in the area. She didn't walk in their homes, but she went there looking for someone...she asked for two different names at their homes. Since we all had bizarre encounters with the same lady within a few minutes of each other. We called the police and filed a police report.
The Police officer told me that it was called Criminal Trespassing since she walked in my house. I am thanking the Lord for HIS hedge of Protection over my family and home. I pray that this lady will move on away from our area.

Shazzam..and GOOOOLLLY!

a pinch and a pinch and it's 'ober'

Karlie and I have been talking to Jolie about getting some earrings. She had been saying yes she wanted some earrings. And for weeks, I've been saying we would have to go get them pierced so the earrings would stay in. I would put my fingers on her little earlobe and say it's a pinch and a pinch and it's over. She would see other little girls' with their ears pierced with cute little earrings and I think she was ready. So I told her on Saturday we would go.  After breakfast  on Saturday, I told dad that we wanted to go and get Jolie's ears pierced. He raised his eyebrows and said to Jolie are you sure you want to go do that in which she replied in a COMPLETE sentence no less, Uh huh...it's a pinch and a pinch and it's ober, and she said that twice and threw up her hands as if to say no big deal. Dad said I don't think I want to go watch that. I reminded him that sometimes, she wants him when I'm brushing the tangles out of her hair, and that he might need to come just to help me. In case the pinch and the pinch was more than she was expecting. He asked her, Jolie do you want me to go with you to get your ears pierced? She said yes!  Actually, the whole family went, all 6 of is. Some of the sibs got a little squeamish about seeing it, and they decided to look at the stuff in the store.

Getting ready to go...excited that Daddy is going too.
Sitting in the earring chair...I have a sucker ready. I read about the lollipop trick from hoot's momma. As soon as we sat her in the chair, the waterworks turned on. I had to give her the lollipop earlier than I anticipated.
She got to pick her earrings. Back in the 1900's when I had mine pierced, it was gold little studs no other choice. She picked the Hello Kitty earrings. Aren't they precious?
There's the waterworks, just after picking the earrings...I am trying to assure her that all will be fine.
Daddy holds her hand.
Daddy holds her hand, and her blanket, mine, is not too far away either.
The Manager came to put the dots on Jolie's ears. She said she was very particular about getting them straight and she actually wiped them off twice and did it again to get it just right. Notice, Jolie is already having a lollipop and we have not even got to the piercing yet.
That eye on the poster is rather eerie.
Waa Laa...the dots are even.
 ready set go...
One big pinch and
 it's ober
 She liked her sticker...
 cute little hello kitty earrings...

All happy now...
Then we went to grab a bite to eat.

WE had a fun family Saturday. Ear piercing, lunch grabbing, just hanging out as a family...it was a good day.

Sunday Snapshot~boys night out

The boys in the house went to a HAWKS game on Thursday night. Karl always gets voucher/tickets at work, but in years past he has always traded his hawks tickets with another co worker in exchange for thrashers tickets. BUT since the Thrashers have been sent to Canada, he went ahead and kept his Hawks tickets. This fact delighted Shek, who has always wanted to see the hawks play so they went. We girls opted out...we decided to have a carbs night out and enjoyed pizza.

Shek took my camera and snagged many good shots. Here's a few from their basketball evening. The guys were disappointed that the Hawks lost the game, but they had a great time anyway.

 Atlanta Hawks
 Love the mascot!
Shek in the stands. He is wearing his Hawks cap and shirt. In fact he woke up that morning and came down ready to go in his hawks attire, but first he had a day of school to do first!
He shoots....
I think the guys had a great time at their boys night out..I know we girls did at our carbs night out!
Tune in on Monday's Post for Jolie's earrings...

Check out my friend's blog. She and her family are currently in China adopting two girls!
