Spring is in the air

Zach's college had a spring formal last night. It was on a river boat at Stone Mountain Park. So when he got out of classes around noon he had me and his sisters go with him to find something to wear. So with a tiny phone photo of his girlfriend's dress we were off to find something to coordinate with her dress....and time was ticking.

This is what we came up with....black sweater, black pants, purple shirt and a dotted tie. I really liked the tie!lol
Here they are ready to go.

This is spring break week in our county and all of our classes that we take outside the home, take this week off so we did too. I had high hopes of getting some spring cleaning done on Monday and Tuesday and then hitting the Coke Pavilion and the Zoo on Wed. and Thursday, but on Wednesday, I woke up feeling a little puny which I later discovered was a wicked virus! Karl came home early to take care of the kiddos and me and Gam came to help too. Karl had a bout with the virus the next day...and now Shek has it this morning...viruses are wicked and should never ever come around our home again!

So, we saved our zoo and coke tickets for later...we'll go on a field trip one early afternoon after our school work is done while everyone else is in school...there'll be less crowds then anyway. The kids did enjoy playing outside this week. Shek cleaned out the old wagon and pulled Jolie around in it. She loved it.

Thank ya, thank ya very much!

I finally finished writing the thank you notes for all of Jolie's welcome home gifts. I learned the art
of writing thank you notes from my high school British Lit. teacher, Mrs. Brown. She had high thank you note standards, and when I taught High School Lit. classes for a few years, I tried to pass on that knowledge to my students. However, I have failed one of the rules with these thank yous! I didn't get them out in a timely fashion....but jet lag, an active toddler, a busy family, and a  wicked virus slowed me down a little. But Praise The  Lord, we stamped and sealed the last of them today and put them in the blue mailbox by the grocery store!
In China, you could buy a handcarved stamp with your child's English and Chinese name carved on the bottom of a stone. The top of the stone would have the animal for the year the child was born. Since Jolie was born in '09 she was born in the year of the ox. We bought chops for each of the kids.
Yes, that's my hand holding the stamp. I miss my nails! LOL
Gam handcrafted the thank-yous using some of her stamps, and other paper crafting tools. It's so nice having a mom you can call and say, "Hey, can you make me some thank-you notes?" I think her thank you creations are awesome; I love the Chinese flair they have!

And in the words of Elvis, "Thank ya, Thank ya very much!"

US Citizen paperwork

Jolie became a US citizen when we arrived home on March 10. Today, we received the official paperwork. I would have taken a photo of the actual document, but it said it was unlawful to photograph or photocopy the document so we settled for a photo of Jolie with the envelope.

Please prayer warriors keep praying for continued bonding and adjustments. Specifically pray for bedtime. She tends to fight sleep, which is a new development...
Jolie has done remarkably well in adjusting to us.
We appreciate all of your continued prayers and concerns.

Sunday Snapshot~Chinese food for lunch or Not?

We love Chinese food. At least we love the American version, not so much the real in China authentic version. LoL
Today after church we stopped by a local Chinese restaurant. Baby girl usually likes the wonton soup and the fried rice and few bites of vegetables and chicken, but today....she was more interested in the side of fries that came with her brother's sesame chicken.
Who'd a thunk it?
