Happy Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year!
I wanted to get some photos of Jolie in her Chinese silks and with the fresh snow, we did a quick change into her outfit and rushed outside for a few quick photos.

She loves to pose and I love to take photos.

It's the year of the horse.
We plan to celebrate with some Chinese food this weekend....we plan to use our chopsticks.

Snow much fun

Snow!

there was snow in the forecast. We did the grocery run yesterday. Almost all the schools shut down in our area, and surrounding states. ;) accept for a few counties which included our homeschool academy. Against my better judgement, I took the kids...it took 2 1/2 hours to get them home once the snow started and the school decided on an early release. Thank goodness for carpool. My carpool friend had the long stint of it today, and actually knew an alternate route when the bridge was iced and they had to turn around ....I would have been clueless how to get around that and back to our meeting place. BUT now I have all my birds back in the nest and they have had a chance to play in the snow. AND they have also told me I don't have any good food in this house either, but I am used to that last statement.

Shek is ready to throw snow balls...
Karlie makes a fashion statement everywhere...even when it snows. I am loving the color coordination here.
cool dudes
I actually caught a jumping photo in action...
Jolie wants to know when she can make a snowman.
Shek was all about the snow balls....
Karlie was a good sport about all of his snowballs....
Most of the time....
Shek says he wants to make a snowman tomorrow, but I think he really wants to throw more snowballs.
Jolie wants to know why she has to come back inside...
 Snow...Fun
 Where's the snow?/
It's Very Cold......Stay warm, stay off the roads...and don't throw any snowballs at mom. And all will be right with the world..
How many days is it till Spring?

It's January of 2014, and it's time to look back at 2013 and see where we have been, and where we plan on going.

Karlie was sparkly at her first winter formal at K.A.
Easter...last year was the first time we put money in the eggs...that way everyone wanted to participate.

Take me back to Central Time Zone

Last night, my oldest kiddo, Zach, was at the studio getting his songs mixed. He lives in the central time zone, I wish we did, it's my favorite time zone. What a difference that one hour makes, especially when it's 1:10 here and a little after midnight there. That's when the phone rang...some time in the middle of the night...he was excited that his song was complete...he was living on adrenaline, college student night owl life....and momma was sleepy...no really a sleep like a rock asleep.  So daddy did the talking. Central time zone, maybe that should be the title of his next song...

Finally, I shook off the sleep, and was able to listen to his finished song. It's a free download on reverbnation. He's excited, and we are too. It's one of his originals. And it's country.
It's nice to see and hear all those music lessons, camps, countless practices, rehearsals, and performances from all these years as well as  almost four years of college education at work.
Earlier this month I posted more of my Zach photos.

Emily sings background vocals, I think they sound awesome. Can't wait to see what God has planned around the corner.

Today I am linking up with my favorite photographer and bloggy friend, Lisa for Favorite Photo Friday at The Long Road to China.
