Chipper Jones NIGHT

Take me out to the ball game buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks...

Shek has been planning on to Chipper Jones night all summer long. His excitement on game day was at its height. Hyper, excited...you name it. He was bundled up with some joy.
The first 20,000 ticket holders received a Chipper Jones Bobble Head. Jolie was quite excited about hers and had to carry it herself and has been walking around with it all day today as well.
Braves Fans.
The game was awesome. Chipper Jones had 2 homeruns he was on fire. I guess he was just as excited as Shek that it was Chipper Jones' Bobble head night. After the game 2ach and Caylene posed with the field in the background.

Take me out to the ball game...

Take me out to the ball game...that's where we've been for the past few months, as we watched the guys at the church rec league grow together as a team. Each week the team learned to work as a team, improved their skills and learned more about Jesus.

Last night was the celebration service for the end of baseball season. The celebration service highlighted videos and photos of all the teams, an illusionist who shared his testimony about Jesus, lots of cheering for the teams,  and a farewell to the rec minister, Jason.

The last game in the dugout..
1-2-3 WIN
After the big presentation in the church sanctuary, each team is dismissed to a classroom for a chance to receive trophies and enjoy  refreshments and fellowship. Coach Chad had some encouraging words for each player as he handed out the trophies, photos and stats.
This awesome cake was created by Donna with each player's name on top.
One last time....
1-2-3 Orioles...
This celebration service was  bittersweet, as this sweet family has accepted a call to another church in another state. Pastor Jason and his family will be greatly missed by the community and his church as he was dynamic in bringing community and church together sharing the love of Jesus through sports for the past 6 years.
I will end this post as Jason always ends his prayers before a game
In Jesus' Name we pray and
in Jesus' Name we play...

my baseball boys

There has been a lot of ball practice going on around here. It's become the hobby of my boys. Every chance they have, they are outside, throwing, catching and batting the ball...even I have joined the fun. AND we all know that God didn't put much athletic ability in my bag.

My boys
Shek loves to practice ball in the yard.
Don't you love the quality? Sorry all I had on me was my phone
All that practice paid off...Shek gets the game ball at Mondays game.
He caught a ball and saved several runs.
Shek was excited...we celebrated with a little mexican food after the game, his favorite. AND karl and I discovered grilled chicken fajita salads...good food choice for us.

Let me see what cha got?

Shek is not only the comedian in the family, but he is the sporty one too. He always wants to watch sports on tv, play sports games on the ds, wii...etc. He even commentates everything  in life and I do mean everything. Imagine life with a comedian sports commentator, commentating every detail in daily life. It's funny let me tell ya.  Every year he plays soccer in a church league, and he has played tball before, but it's been awhile since he has played more than one sport in a year. BUT this year, he wanted to give baseball a shot, so we agreed.

Yesterday, was the sports evaluation at the fields. There were all kinds of folks out there, boys, girls and grown ups. There were stressed moms on their cells, telling the dads, "you shoulda been here, to tell him what to do, he has missed every ball!" Then there were moms like me who were freezing, cause we forgot to bring a jacket.   And there were nervous kids hungry kids, impatient kids, and tired kids. There was a lot of nervous energy at the church fields.

Anyway, there they all stood in the dugout, waiting for their name to be called so that they could show their stuff. I give um all props as they say, because, being a musical person, when I had my tryouts, at least I was evaluated by a couple of band directors in an office with out everyone in the world looking on...Can you imagine?

Anyway, I brought my camera along, because naturally this had all the makings of  a blog post. BUT, my boy, knowing that I brought my camera along, wasn't all grins, smiles and poses. He dodged my few attempts at taking photos. So, being the only momma out there with a camera and not wanting to embarrass my boy anymore than normal....I tried taking photos on the sly....and these are the lovely shots I came home with...some  blurry, but I have them saved for the memories, right? Memories of Shek's 4th grade school year when he was the ripe old age of 10.

" Yes, Momma, I know you have the camera, but I'm not about to look at you."
Momma says, "Fine, I'll take a picture of your back then!"
