this week's happenings

School started back this week for our county, however, not for us. We start after labor day, and I am glad to have a few more days to squee2e in some more summer fun. This has been a busy week chocked full of activities and we are only at thrusday.

Every year the county has an open house in the Target Parking lot. Vendors from around the area show up with free samples, and all of the rescue  squads arrive, free pencils, home depot crafts, rescue dogs...it's a fun night. Here Shek gets to sit in the firetruck and ask the fireman questions.

And Pop turned the big 70 this week...we celebrated with bbq  sandwiches and chocolate cake and ice cream.
This boy is busy packing up his stuff and buying needed items for his apartment for college...he moves in 1 week to the big city of nashville.
And the THRIVE student ministry kicked off this week too Karlie poses with her shirt. She got the last small tee shirt, and the youth leader handing them out gave her the one off of her back so that she would not have to have a huge one...wasn't that sweet.

We are headed to the beach in a couple of days for a much needed little beach break, before 2ach goes off to school and before our KONOS homeschool coop begins....
