Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?

For my family we wish Merry Christmas....and it is a Happy Holiday for us  because it's the celebration of the birth of our KING and Savior Jesus Christ. But to many in the world today, Christmas is not a Merry Christmas  because they don't know the Savior...it's simply a holiday for them because they get a day off.

Last night after getting home from Wednesday night church we were all filled with Christmas cheer and my daughter checked her facebook and added a status that she usually puts on her facebook this time of year. In fact, their whole lesson in youth last night was about keeping Christ in Christmas. She wrote:  It's not "happy holidays" its Merry CHRISTmas! keep Christ in Christmas!

In just a few minutes she had a "notification" in which she was slammed for her status...SLAMMED, I tell you for saying let's keep Christ in Christmas???

I must preface by saying that the girl who slammed her comment  is just an acquaintance, and a girl that she never sees anymore, and the only other time the girl has commented on her facebook, it was yet another negative comment. SO the girl, she's not on my favorite list to say the least!

I don't know who reads my blog, but I am pretty sure that it's safe to say that this girl doesn't read it and if by chance she does, good...she'll learn that I am praying for her salvation...and praying that she will have an encounter with the Savior so that she too can't help but be passionate about HIM not only at the celebration of His birth, but at all times.

The girl's comment to my girl was this:
Happy Holidays! you know, the holiday season. AKA Christmas and New Years. Also, it could be to refer to the fact that Christianity is not the only religion out there, and that there are people that want to include islam, judaism, and other faiths in the world that have a religious celebration. Saying "happy holidays" is not offensive. nobody is removing christ from christmas. <--(see the word christ is still there)
While I agree that people calling christmas trees "holiday trees" takes the point a little too far, and the fact that decorations that traditionally belong to the christian celebration of christmas are now being called "holiday" decorations can get annoying, there's no reason to post a status insinuating that jesus is being eradicated. that's absurd.

In which my daughter responded with the following....with a little help from her fired up momma:
It's been my experience that most folks that say Happy Holidays are simply trying to be politically correct and tolerant of other religions. One day all knees will bow and they will bow to Jesus Christ. The Bible states in Matthew 10 :33" But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven."

I am sure that the girl's18 years of life experience has made her quite the wise one as she so arrogantly responded with this:  lol in my experience, I couldn't give a hoot about political correctness. Saying "happy holidays" does not 'deny' jesus. it just also acknowledges the beliefs of others "in your experience"

Karlie and I were both shocked at the outcome of  her facebook status that was simply written to honor Christ.  When so called Christians  have the attitude that this girl has....those attitudes and complacency   gets happy holidays the new norm  and gets prayer out of schools, and The Ten Commandments out of public places because we can't offend anyone....

Sure there are other belief systems in the world, but there's only ONE WAY to the Father and that's through HIS SON, Jesus! I am not a hater of those that believe other beliefs, I am praying that they come to know the ONE who died for them. I love the Jewish people, my Savior, Jesus is a Jew what a rich heritage the Jewish people have. Whether you're a Jew, Islam,  Buddhist, Baptist, Catholic....you name it, Jesus was born, died and resurrected for each and everyone.

At my house we are passionate about the LORD JESUS CHRIST....and we'll be wishing you and yours a very Merry CHRISTmas until Jesus comes back...and when HE comes back what a Happy  Holiday it will be!

Merry CHRISTmas from our house to yours!

16"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. John 3:16-17
